Future Bar Code & Labeler supports the most recent two dimensional bar codes including PDF417, Aztec Code, Data Matrix and MaxiCode, making it the most advanced bar coding software on today's market. PDF 417 (PDF stands for "Portable Data File") is a high density 2 dimensional bar code symbology that is similar to a stacked set of smaller bar codes. This bar code symbology is capable of encoding the entire 256 ASCII or ANSI character set. Aztec Code is a high density 2 dimensional matrix style bar code symbology that can encode up to 3750 characters from the entire 256 byte ASCII character set. The bar code symbol is created on a square grid with a bulls-eye pattern at the center. Data is encoded in layers that go around the bulls-eye pattern causing the symbol to grow in size as more data is encoded. Nevertheless, the symbol stays square. Data Matrix is also a high density 2 dimensional matrix style bar code symbology. It can encode up to 3116 characters from the entire 256 byte ASCII character set. The bar code symbol is generated on a square grid with a finder pattern around the perimeter. MaxiCode is a fixed size matrix style bar code symbology that is built on offset rows of hexagonal modules positioned around a unique bulls-eye finder pattern. The maximum data capacity for this symbology is 93 Alphanumeric characters or 138 Numeric characters.
